Obtaining Rowing Sports Medals at Popnas XVI Exceeds Target

Rowing athletes from Jakarta successfully won 4 gold, 2 silver, and 2 bronze medals in Popnas XVI.

Alhamdulillah (Thank God), our athletes managed to get a gold medal twice the target set

Jakarta Rowing Team Manager, Adi Jaya Gumelar expressed that the achievement of 4 gold medals exceeded the target set of 2 gold medals.

"Alhamdulillah (Thank God), our athletes managed to get a gold medal twice the target set," he expressed, at the Rowing venue, Jakabaring Sport City, Sunday (9/3).

Jakarta Archery Wins Three Gold in Popnas XVI

He explained the gold medals were won by Aprilia (Woman Kayak Single), Febrian (M1X), Marco-Ghaff (M2-), and Marco-Febrian-Fahreza-Iqbal (M4X).

He added Jakarta also won two silver medals from the Woman Kayak 4 number on behalf of Aprilia-Chateline-Erinda-Nadine, as well as in the W1X number through Lola Hanarina.

"Bronze medals were contributed by Erinda and Nadine in the Woman Kayak Double number and the M2X number with athletes Fahreza Erdi Febrian and Iqbal," he explained.

In Rowing sport, Jakarta fielded 10 male and eight female athletes who participated in 18 competition numbers.

"We have made optimal preparations. We should be grateful for the results achieved in Popnas XVI. Thank you and I feel proud of all the athletes, parents, and of course the Dispora," he added.

He hoped that they could continue to make achievements at the senior level to represent Indonesia at international level competitions.

"Hopefully, this can come true, our athletes will be part of Jakarta's Success for Indonesia," he stressed.

While, the athlete who won the gold medal, Aprilia Lebora Lawalata, admitted that she was very grateful and happy because she had won the gold medal.

"Praise God for being very good in my life, I managed to get gold in the Woman Kayak Single number. Thank you my parents, Dispora, schools, managers, coaches, and friends," she expressed.

This Class XII student at SMAN 40 North Jakarta was determined to continuously excel, thus her dream of becoming a national athlete with international achievements could be realized.

"I will continue to practice diligently. Hopefully, in the future, I will have more and more abilities for achievement," she said.
